Aunty Ann's Rose

In 2005, my much-loved Aunty Ann gave me a little cutting of a rose that she had growing in her gorgeous garden at Tungamah in North-east Victoria. She didn't know the name of it, so it became known in our garden as "Aunty Ann's Rose".

It is a beautiful rose- scrolly buds open to old-fashioned style blooms packed with petals, and the scent is reminiscent of a hybrid musk rose. Its habit is shrub-like, and after six years in the garden it has not grown higher than 4 1/2 feet.

Aunty Ann passed away in December 2008, so this lovely rose now has an even more special place in my heart.
