Pax (which is Latin for 'peace') is a fabulous and versatile rose, in that it can be used as a shrub or a climber of some proportions. The example pictured above is grown as part of a mixed hedge of hybrid musks, but I have also grown it in one of the beds along the front verandah of our home where it behaved as a climber. So well did it perform this function, in fact, that when it wrecked the guttering on the roof and reached even further for the heavens, we had to remove it (the same fate befell a white Banksia rose at our back door)
The gold stamens are one of the loveliest features of Pax, as are its beautiful scrolled buds.
